A Code Red remains in effect for Essex County Public Schools, and all schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Jan. 30, 2026. Scholars should use this time to complete all assignments provided for asynchronous learning. Employees should work remotely as able.

Tuesday, Feb. 3, is designated as a Parent-Teacher Conference Day. As coordinated by each school, teachers will offer virtual options for parents who wish to meet remotely. If a virtual meeting is not possible, teachers will make every effort to connect with families by phone or, when feasible, in person. For families unable to participate in a virtual or teleconference option, schools will work with parents to schedule a convenient appointment time. Families can expect additional communication from their school principal with specific details and next steps.

With more weather forecasted for the weekend, families are encouraged to closely monitor the ECPS website and official communication channels for the most up-to-date information.
