The EHS Drones Class/Team would like to invite you to its annual "Drone Family Night and Naming Ceremony" on Thursday, September 17th at 6:30 PM in the EHS Library. You'll get to meet with EHS Families and watch the students:
- Get their Recreational License
- Get their "Wings Pinned On"
- Receive their "Call Sign"
- and demonstrate some "light flying activities".

CBGS Virtual Parent Information Night
Due to the ongoing water main break issue from yesterday, leaving Tappahannock Elementary School, the School Board Office, and the surrounding residential area without water, Essex County Public Schools will be closed today. Lunch will be available for pickup at James Cary Intermediate School at noon today on a first-come first-serve basis. All 12-month employees may telework or use liberal leave today. We will provide an update as soon as water service has been restored.
The Essex County School Board will be holding a Special Called meeting on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.. in the Essex County School Board Office Complex.
Convocation kicked off with such spirit yesterday! Staff walked the red carpet, enjoyed awesome food, participated in dance contests, schools/depts competed for the "best skit", cheerleaders brought the energy, the student panel was the heart of the day, and Supt. Bell set the tone with the message "Lead. Love. Learn!", and the ECPS teams are ready for our students!! This will be their best year yet!
